Council offers gift in bid to get women to engage in breast screening project

By Neil Speight 31st Jan 2020

THURROCK Council is hoping women in the borough will take part in a survey to help with a breast screening insight project in Thurrock.

The project is being led by Elozona Umeh, Senior Public Health Programme Manager at the council who want to know what they can do to get more women to undertake breast screening.

She says: "Breast screening catches cancer early, saves lives, makes treatment less complicated and increases survival, yet around one third of women in Thurrock miss their free appointment.

"We're keen to hear from these women about what we can do to make it easier for them to attend, so we can improve cancer outcomes in Thurrock."

In a bid to get more women to take part in the survey the council is offering a £15 e-gift card to the first 50 eligible respondents (women aged 50-70 who live in Thurrock and have missed a breast screening appointment). The survey link can be made by clicking the red button below.
