Graham and Co smash the record and raise ten of thousands for great causes - there's still time to donate

By Neil Speight 7th Dec 2021

A CORRINGHAM man has spoken of his pride and delight at helping create a new world record - and praised all those who helped make it happen.

Nub News reported last week on the planned attempt by Graham Twigg and friends to set a new static cycling record.

Over the weekend they turned their ambition to reality and set a new record by riding as a group for 29 hours in support of four charities - MIND, Copperfeel, The Mintridge Foundation and NHS Charities Together.

Graham says: "It was amazing to be part of an awesome team! It was tough at times in the early hours of the morning, but unbelievable!

"I'm not the most athletic person, but I think that gives me the drive and determination. I have a couple of my own mottos I use in life: 'I may never be the best, but I can always be the best I can be!' and 'Believe and you can achieve'.

"I'm obviously on a high. All of the team of 15 finished and so far more than £33k has been raised, which is amazing. It would be lovely to get to the £40k which was the initial target set by our organiser and inspiration Jackie to fulfill her dream."

You can still make a donation to the team via this link
