THURROCK Foodbank has been boosted by a grant from the Grays-based Griffin Foundation Trust, the charity arm of the Griffin property group.

Griffin's charity trustee Ashley Froment, said: "We were thrilled to be invited down to the Thurrock Foodbank to present the grant of £1000.

"The team at the foodbank are a credit to our community. We were able to see first hand the sheer scale of the operation and what is involved in processing the inbound food donations.

"We hope our donation goes a long way to help the Thurrock community. The foodbank is urgently in need of tinned fruits and custard. If you scan spare anything from your kitchen cupboards, please visit and donate."

Earlier this week Nub News also featured the work of the Trust when we reported on a gift of books and a grant to Giffards Primary Academy.
