Grays was lit up by community groups in musical parade

By Nub News Reporter 28th Mar 2025

A CELEBRATION of community involvement took place in Grays this evening (Friday, 28 March), with the borough's fourth Festival of Light, organised by borough-based group Arts Outburst.

Local community groups took part in a parade from Falcon Wood on Bridge Street to the Thameside Theatre where a celebration film was shown on the outside wall of the Thameside complex and residents were able to sample food from a number of pop up outlets and enjoy music.

Local historian Mike Ostler was among those featured in the film.

The film recalled many of the iconic moments at the Thameside Complex, with contributions from local people.

Preparation for the event began earlier this year and there have been a number of workshops to bring local groups together to create items involved in the parade, which had a theme of time.

The parade arrived at the Thameside:-

Parade participants gathered outside the Thameside.
