Man to face trial for dumping 93 lorry tyres on Thurrock rural road - and more local criminal cases before magistrates

A ROMANIAN resident of Grays, Dan Guguian, 52, who lives on London Road, will face trial at Southend Magistrates' Court on 15 April charged with tipping 93 large lorry tyres in a layby and on adjacent land on the A1306 in the west of Thurrock.

The case was brought by Thurrock Council.

A 45-YEAR-old man from South Ockendon has been given a stalking protection order pending a trial that will take place in July this year.

Junior McPherson appeared before Basildon magistrates who heard he had been stalking his female victim, turning up at her address multiple times per week, leaving food and cigarettes on her doorstep while she was sleeping and threatening to throw acid at her.

The court was told of a number of historical assaults.

A non-molestation order had been put in place but the court was told heard he has ignored it a number of times and entered his victim's home.

McPherson is now banned from the vicinity of her home in Teviot avenue, Aveley and subject to a number of restrictions including use of the internet and mobile phones.

A STANFORD-le-Hope teenager walked away from Southend Youth Court after being cleared of harassment and causing criminal damage. The 16-year old boy, who cannot be named, also received a payment towards costs from central legal funds after the case was dismissed because no evidence was offered.

KURTIS Allison, 29, of Albany Road, Tilbury, admitted stealing two bottles of Jack Daniels whisky from Morrisons in Grays and was found guilty of assaulting Sakib Kenjar at the store.

He was ordered to partake in a rehabilitation activity called 'Building Skills and Recovery' and also pay compensation of £20.

The offence also put him in breach of a previous community order for theft from Superdry at Lakeside.

NICHOLAS Kamall, 42, of Wentworth Road, Stanford-le-Hope, who also uses the alias James Pearce, pleaded guilty to charges of harassing Oladisi Oredin in a racially aggravated manner and also assaulting her.

He was ordered to attend a rehabilitation activity and pay compensation of £100 and costs and a surcharge amounting to £235. In addition he must adhere to the terms of a restraining order restricting him from contacting his victim or entering Dart Green, South Ockendon.

CHRISTIAN Joshua Ogiugo, 21, of Chaucer Close, Tilbury, admitted failing to adhere to the terms of a community order by not attending unpaid community work commitments.

He has been ordered to complete 20 hours work within the next 12 months.

PAUL Berry, 37, of Parsonage Road, Grays, was committed for trial at Basildon Magistrates' Court in May after pleading not guilty to a charge of carrying an unlawful knife in London Road, Grays.

REECE Leon Garner, 25, of Delafield Road, Grays, admitted assisting in the theft of an electric cycle from G. Green and Sons in Grays. The cycle was worth £1,800.

Garner was ordered to carry out 60 hours of unpaid community work and pay £600 compensation.

A GRAYS resident from Romania, Georghe Avramescu, 43, of Chase Way, was referred to Basildon Crown Court for sentencing after admitting a series of charges of stealing diesel fuel belong to the Hoyer Group in Purfleet.

One of the thefts was valued at more than £31,000 and the others were of unknown total value.

THORDUR Karason, 35, an Icelander living at Conway Gardens, Grays, admitted driving while drunk and also carrying an offensive weapon (a locking knife) in public.

He was released on unconditional bail pending sentencing on 12 March.

A ROMANIAN woman living on the Buckles Lane mobile home site admitted theft of multiple items from Sainsburys at Chafford Hundred.

The theft also triggered a number of other previous offences for theft for which she had been serving a community order.

She will now have to undertake unpaid community work for 93 hours and carry out a rehabilitation activity. She also had to pay costs and a surcharge totalling £195.

A JAMAICAN woman living on St Chads Road, Tilbury, will face trial at Basildon Magistrates' Court in April after pleading not guilty to a charge of carrying a weapon - a pepper spray.

Trudy-ann MILLS Harriott is also charged with stealing goods to the value of £113.63 from Costco.

OLUBUKOLA Idayatu Akinmboni, 40, of Thurloe Walk, Grays, will reappear at Southend Magistrates' Court on 15 April where he will face three charges of fraud related to property ownership.

PAUL Frank Gibson, 29, of 18 Harty Close, Grays, will face trial at Southend Magistrates' Court on 30 April on a number of charges.

He has pleaded not guilty to causing a woman harassment or alarm but has admitted a number of other offences, including racially abusing a police officer, two charges of driving off without paying for petrol and breaching bail condition.

LUKE Francis Clements, 30, of Godman Road, Chadwell St Mary, received a 12 month conditional discharge after admitting stealing a £1 Stanley knife from Poundland in Grays. He had to pay for the knife and a surcharge and costs totalling £126.

Lee Pritchard, 28, of Perth House, Tilbury, admitted breaching a condition of his release from prison by not adhering to a supervision order. He was fined £10.

RACHEAL Louise Drake, 35, admitted stealing fragrances to the value of £423 from Debenhams at intu Lakeside and was ordered to carry out 40 days of unpaid community service and attend a rehabilitation activity.

A TEENAGER who breached an order not to visit intu Lakeside shopping centre under a community protection order was fined £50.

MASS Fye, 19, of Schoolfield Way, Grays, also had to pay a surcharge and costs totalling £82

METIN Ugur, 51, of Palmerston Road, Grays, has denied two charges of harassment against a man and a woman and will face trial at Southend Magistrates' Court in May. In the meantime he is not to contact them or go within the location of London Road, Tilbury.
