AS the end of the 'normal' school term approaches in what has been an abnormal year, the staff and pupils at Stanford-le-Hope's Arthur Bugler School have been sharing their recent memories.

On Monday 23 March, the UK Government announced a national lockdown in a bid to control the spread of Covid-19. All schools across the UK would close to all pupils with the exception of Key Worker children. However, nothing could stop Arthur Bugler Primary School from supporting all of its wonderful community during these unprecedented times.

Since the lockdown was announced, staff at Arthur Bugler Primary School have been working innovatively and creatively to keep spreading a little happiness into the households of everyone in its community.

During the daily Facebook Live feeds, led by Headteacher John Bryant, pupils from Arthur Bugler Primary were able to stay connected to the Fun Factory. For example, they were able to watch their teachers compete in TTRockstar competitions and strike some interesting dance moves in The Masked Singer. The school even launched daily activities and competitions to support their pupils' home-learning programme, and prizes were hand-delivered to winners across the local area.

Mr Bryant, said: "It has been an incredible journey over the past 4 months and our school has been a beacon of light for our community and I am proud of every single child and member of staff. Roll on September when the Fun Factory re-opens to everyone!"
