More damage caused by stone-throwing youths

By Neil Speight 2nd Sep 2021

JUST a couple of days after stone-throwing youths caused borough bus services to be disrupted, more damage has been caused to vehicles in the west of the borough by flying missiles.

On Tuesday (31 August) Nub News reported on damage caused to buses n the South Ockendon area which saw a number of windows smashed by young people throwing missiles.

This evening (Thursday, 2 September) residents in neighbouring Purfleet have reported that a group of youngsters was spotted hurling rocks from the Tank Hill Road area onto houses and vehicles in the Caspian Way area which is on the floor of a former quarry. Some of the houses over which the stones were hurled are four storeys high.

A number of vehicles are said to have been damaged. Police have been informed about the incident.
