UNHAPPY parents mounted a roadside protest outside a Thurrock secondary school to show their continued concern following the resignation of its popular head techer.

Over recent days, since the announcement that Gable Hall School is advertising for a new head following the departure on principal Ceri Evans in the wake of an Ofsted report that put the school into the 'inadequate' category, hundreds of residents have expressed their disappointment at his departure and have heaped much criticism on the trust, the Ortu Federation, that runs the school.

There has been much adverse comment on social media, with some parents calling for the CEO of the federation, Dr Sophina Asong, to go and for Mr Evans to be reinstated.

That was the gist of the argument promoted by the group of parents that met and protested outside the school on Southend Road this morning (Saturday, 30 July).
