Paula's wheel deal is backed up by Rotary club and residents will be getting together

THANKS have been expressed by a borough charity to the Rotary Club of Mardyke Valley after it received a donation that will bring lonely and vulnerable people in the borough together.

And priase and thanks have also been expressed to one of the charity's volunteer co-ordinators whos efforts made it all possible.

Paula Mullooly is one of the people who run the Re-engage charity in the borough, organising events including tea parties for lonely people.

In June she took place in the Rotary club organised Thurrock Cycle Marathon and was sponsored by friends and family.

After completing the course her sponsorship was added to by the club and Paula recently visited a presentation evening to receive a combined cheque for £876.

Group co-ordinator Loraine Coleman said: "A very big thank you to our lovely Re-engage volunteer group co-ordinator Paula for raising a fabulous £876 for Thurrock Re-engage by entering into the cycle mararhon.

"This amazing total was made up of friends and family sponsoring Paula and a very generous donation from the Rotary Club of Mardyke Valley. 

"Thank you all so very much this wonderful funding will support us going into 2023 providing free tea parties for our local elderly residents in Thurrock."
