POLICE have issued a call for members of the Tilbury community to come forward with any information about a gang fight that took place on the town's Anchorfield park last night (Wednesday, 7 July).

A statement from the Essex force says: "We received reports of a disturbance taking place on the Anchorfield in Tilbury, shortly after 7.30pm last night.

"It was reported that a fight was taking place.

"Officers arrived at the scene and carried out a search, but no victims of crime could be identified.

"We need anyone who witnessed the incident, has dashcam, mobile phone or doorbell footage of it to submit a report online at https://www.essex.police.uk where you can also use the 'Live Chat' button to speak to an online operator between 7am and 11pm. Please quote incident 1251 of 6 July.

"You can also call us on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."

The Anchorfield is currently the focus of borough attention as it has been earmarked as the potential site for a new youth zone: https://thurrock.nub.news/news/local-news/images-of-planned-new-youth-zone-site-in-tilbury-138891?fs=e&s=cl
