THE management of a borough pre-school where two three-year-old children 'escaped' and wandered local streets has quit.

Nub News broke the story of the incident which left parents of children at Chadwell St Mary's Acorns pre-school on Waterson Road outraged.

In the wake of the incident education watchdog Ofsted announced the interim closure of the pre-school while it carried out an investigation.

However, any outcome from that investigation appears to have been precluded by a decision by the school's registered manager, Julie Storr, to leave the business.

Ofsted has confirmed the premises are no longer operational, saying: "The provider resigned from their registration with Ofsted on 3 March. "
