Residents weigh in with a glittering donation

By Nub News Reporter 26th Jan 2025

RESIDENTS on a borough estate have weighed in with the fruits of their Christmas efforts.

Every year homeowners on St Andrews Way in Stanford-le-Hope set up a spectacular display of Christmas Lights and extend an invitation to local folk to visit - and hopefully make a donation to a good cause.

Last Christmas that cause was the Essex Wildlife Hospital in Orsett and recently the residents visited to hand over more than £1,100 raised in December.

In a thank-you message staff at the hospital say: "The residents put an incredible amount of effort and we are honoured that they chose to raise money for us this time!

"With this donation, we have been able to purchase a new weighing system for our seal pups to make sure that we can accurately keep track of their progress. Thank you to all on St Andrews Way!"
