AFTER a lengthy process which has included rejection of previous plans, the green light has finally been given by Thurrock Council officers for the restoration of a smithy in a local village.

In August Nub News reported on the latest, reduced application for the proposed Wick Place Cottage development on Brentwood Road, Bulphan.

An earlier application had been rejected by councillors, prompting an as yet unheard appeal to the planning inspectorate, but the latest bid has been passed without reference to the planning committee.

The report recommending approval by planning officers can be read here.

The development plan, detailing the history of the smithy, was first put forward in August last year.
