THIEVES who stole more than £30,000 worth of stock from a Stanford-le-Hope shock appear to be marketing the stolen items on local selling pages.

The haul was taken from the Uniformwise schoolwear shop on Stanfiord High Street in an early morning raid on Tuesday, 23 August.

The store owner, Thurrock businessman Paul Grayer  has explained what happened and warned potential buyers that they are likely to be purchasing stolen goods – which can be identified – and he asked the local community not to support thieves.

He says: "We are a small local family-run business are calling out for community support to help prevent the circulation of £30k worth of stolen embroidered school uniform,

"On 23 August at 5am thieves broke into our premises and made off in a white Ford with branded schoolwear stock worth over £30k.

"Little did they know this stock has unique identification numbers that are all logged as stolen goods.

"The unfortunate and sickening thing is part of this stock was being used to donate to children that are migrating into schools from Ukraine, our company will continue to support and donate to local community charities and events and this won't change our plan to do so for 2022/2023.

"We have been made aware that these items are now being sold on local selling pages, we want to make our community aware that no schoolwear shop will ever sell goods on selling pages.

"This has seriously affected us financially and a lot of hard work that our staff put in thoughout the summer has been ruined by these thieves.

"The clothing brands stolen are APTUS, BANNER, ZECO, AWD and AKOA."
