Storytelling and writing to the fore as Grays folk get chance to unleash their creative monsters

A SERIES of storytelling events in Grays will start this week and will run throughout August.

On Friday (29 June) the first of a series of celebrations of words, books, stories and creativity with free workshops will take place at Thurrock Yacht Club on at Kilverts Wharf, Argent Street.

Starting at 7pm it will feature presenter and author Lara Maiklem talking about Mudlarking and features excerpts from her book 'Mudlarking: Lost and Found on the River Thames.

On Monday, 1 August Jemma Hatt will host a writing workhop that will take place in Grays Town Park, from 11am.

Folklore storyteller Sara Lloyd-Winder will be at Elm Road open space on Friday, 5 August from 11am and the park will also host a storytelling event with Lou Treleaven on Monday, 8 August, starting at 11am.

Vanessa J Taylor will present two events on Friday, 12 August and Monday, 15 August at Grays Town Park, both entitled BallerBoys.

And Jemma Hatt will return with another writing workshop at Elm Road open space at 11am on Friday, 19 August.

Grays Town Park will be the venue for 'Storytelling in the Park' at 11am on Monday, 22 August with Lou Treleaven and the final event is entitled 'Unleash Your Creative Monster' and will take place on Friday, 26 August at the Elm Road open space, hosted from 11am by Andy Jones.
