TWO vehicles suffered significant damage and at least three people were injured after an incident in the Lakeside area.

It happened last night (Sunday, 20 November) on Weston Avenue, West Thurrock.

The area is subject to a prohibition order for car rallies and the like, but still attracts groups of people to show off and sometimes race in their customised vehicles.

Pictures released by Essex Police show the extent of the damage caused.

The incident happened around 9.45 last night (November 20) close to of the Lakeside regional shopping centre near the Big Blue Food Bus and the Ibis Hotel.

Police officers attended the scene of the crash, alongside East of England Ambulance Service paramedics. Though there were no serious injuries reported from the crash, three people were treated by ambulance crews at the scene.

Though there has been no indications that this was anything other than an unfortunate collision between two vehicles driven by law-abiding drivers, a statement from Essex Police says: "If you have information, dashcam, or can help in any other way please contact us quoting incident number Ep-20221120-1127, you can also contact us anonymously through Crimestoppers.

"Minor cases of anti-social driving and racing are still happening in the area with one car seized under section 59 powers for wheel spinning towards an officer and others being dealt with in and near TGI car park."
