Why Paul is milking memories

A BOROUGH man is hoping to milk people's memories in a search for information about a vehicle he has lovingly restored.

Getting the former Patridge's Dairy electric milk float back to its best condition has been a labour of love for Paul Luke, but he is looking to find out more about its history.

Paul, who was featured on Thurrock Nub News in September 2022  has asked us to sahre a plea with readers, saying: "I'm sure by now some of you may have found yourself stuck behind me in my lovely restored Partridge's Dairy milk float, top speed of about 10mph on the flat!!

"I'm looking to put some bits together for when I attend events. I've obviously already got a number of photographs of the restoration project along the way

"However, I'm trying to gather some other bits.

"Did any of your relatives work for Partridge's? I'm sure the milkmen wore a jacket with the partridge's name. I think they were either blue or green. I doubt very much I'll be able to find one of those but I'm hopeful.

"I'm also on the search for Partridge's milk bottles and crates and any photographs of the dairy or floats I may not have already seen.

"Finally rumour has it that the original floats were green? I don't think there's any evidence of this as photographs at the time would have been black and white.

"It would be great to establish what colour the floats were originally and what colour the writing on them was? Also, the dates the colours changed? Any items or information would be appreciated."

Anyone who can help is asked to get in touch with Paul via his Facebook page.
