WARD councillors in Stanford-le-Hope are canvassing residents on their views about a prosed new bin which they hope will combat 'excessive litter and dog-fouling' on their patch.

Stanford West councillors Shane Hebb and Terry Piccolo have written to residents in the London Road and Caldwell Road area after officers recommended siting a new bin.

They say: "We are writing following feedback from residents about excessive litter and dog-fouling occurring around London Road and Caldwell Road - around the paths and the nearby green spaces.

"We have raised this with Thurrock Council who have suggested fitting a bin next to the bench at the end of Caldwell Road, at the junction with London Road.

We want to let residents know, in case they have any issues with this. An additional litter bin should help reduce the likelihood that litter and dog waste will be left on paths and green spaces. If you wish to raise any points please email us on either [email protected] or [email protected] by Sunday, 20 February."
