Will the show go on this year? Call for help from businesses and community

AFTER a two year cancellation because of covid-19 the Orsett Show for 2022 is in jeopardy again, not because of the virus but a lack of sponsorship.

An appeal has gone out to the local community and business for any ideas or offers to ensure the one day family event does take place for the 114th time.

Raised costs, charges associated with the cancellation of last year's cancelled event and a decline in donations, the organisers are asking for help.

Show Secretary, Georgina Clark said: "We're pretty worried really. The show is so popular and the demand for stall space has been great, but we can't get away from the fact if we don't get more sponsors then the show is in jeopardy."

In a statement show organisers add: "If you're a business owner, or a sole-trader, you could sign up for one of our four new sponsor packages which are complete tax write-offs. Not to mention the packages are packed with ways we want to say thank you, including advertising, lunch and complimentary tickets.

"If you're a neighbour, resident, fan or visitor, you could simply make a donation of any amount which would be gratefully received."

"Any donations would be a great help" says Georgina. "All contributions will go towards the best show yet and help keep the ticket price on the day low and affordable for every family in the borough and beyond. We're keen to try and keep it a free day for all children under 16.

"We really want to give all our local families a well-deserved day of wholesome fun.

"The last couple of years have been devastating to many families and businesses. Only you and your generosity can help save the show and bring a very welcome pocket of joy to Thurrock
