TOMORROW'S Bank Holiday (Monday, 30 August) will bring a further opportunity for people to visit the outdoor art and sound installation on the pontoon walkway at the International Cruise Terminal on the Thames at Tilbury.

Tilbury Bridge Walkway of Memories is a site-specific art installation, comprised of images, documents, audio recordings and memorabilia on 432 panes of glass, adorning one of the bridges that passengers of the Empire Windrush first walked across as they entered Britain in 1948.

The installation, which is free to visit, includes an audio visual presentation accessible via a QR code on entry. You can also use a QR reader to scan the QR codes featured on selected windows to listen to extracts of the 25 audio stories from Windrush elders' about their experience of coming to the UK.

The site will be open from 10am to 6pm tomorrow.

You can learn more about the installation, by artist Evewright, via this video link.
