SWIMMERS from Thurrock Swimming Club recently participated in the first weekend of the Essex Championships. 

The swimmers, who train at Blackshots Leisure Centre with Impulse Leisure performed extremely well with many medals, personal best times and top places achieved. 

Many swimmers also achieved Regional qualifying times so Thurrock will be sending a large team to the Regional Championships in April & May. 

Swimmers who competed in the first weekend included Riley Allen, Ava Boucaud, Isla Cotter, Isabella Da Silva, Lilly Franks, Ivan Ijomoni, Ore Johnson, Will Minister, Nicholas Mitroi, Markos Mouratidis, Tirenioluwa Ogundele, Ehimare Ojiekhudu, Kai Patel, Sarah Quartermaine, Zachariah Shepherd, Victor Andrei Tache, Adam Thompson, Tyree Tudor, Arianna Tverijonas, Lilyana Verlander, Zak Walker, Lucas Ward, Adam Zarhloul, Lucas Ankudavicius, Briana Avramescu, Oba Bankole, Tami Bankole, Nikita Charykin, Olivia Church, Roxanne           Coker, Henry Dean, Elise Delapperall, Priya Dhillon, Bryony Edgings, Jeremy Godwin, Yordan Golemdzhiev, Jenson     Hurrell, Francesca Key, Alvira Khan, Ethan Martin, Ben Minister, Colin Moghina, Kevin Moghina, Osehon Ojiekhudu, Tobi Olajide, Ademola Oshowole, Elise Paraiwa, Joshua Shepherd, Daniel Thompson, Mia Ward, Louise Webster. Thurrock also enjoyed success in the 9/10 year old girls relays. Isabella Banwo Emily Georgieva, Esme Parkes and Poppy Ellingford finished fourth in the 4x50m medley relay and eighth in the freestyle event
