YOUNGSTERS from Thurrock Swimming Club enjoyed a successful competition in the Essex County Championships 2026.

More than 50 of its swimmers took part in the at the iconic London Aquatics Centre with amazing results across the board.

From County Champion titles to podium finishes and top 10 placings in sprint, endurance and relay events, swimmers aged 8–20 delivered outstanding performances against 30 clubs from across Essex.

Special shoutout to multiple gold medallists including Henry Dean, Ivan Ijomoni, James McGettigan and Kai Patel, plus brilliant medal wins from swimmers such as Rebecca Coogan, Esme Parkes, Daniel Thompson, Lilly Franks and Riley Allen

The relay squads also smashed it, with the 11–12 boys winning gold in the freestyle relay and strong top 10 finishes across all junior relay teams.

This is only the first block of championships. With more rounds to come in February and March, the momentum is well and truly building.
