Grays Athletic 2, Lowestoft Town 3

GRAYS gave a a good account of themselves in Saturday's Isthmian North clash at Chadfields against the league leaders but in the endlost out.

The sides were even through the opening exchanges before Lowestoft took the lead on 16 minutes when Harvey Sayers converted a penalty that most observors throught was very generously given.

Four minutes later the ref balanced things up with another dubious decision at the other end, with Sam Bantick slotting home the subsequent spot kick.

However, Grays' hopes of going into the break on even terms were dashed just before the break when Jake Read fired home.

On 75 minutes Lowestoft thought they had put the game to bed when Read grabbed a second but the Blues continued to battle and were rewarded in added time when sub David Knight scored, but ultimately it was too little, too late.
