EAST Thurrock United's reward for Saturday's FA Cup success at FC Clacton was a home draw in the first qualifying round when they will play host to Biggleswade FC from the Southern League Central Division.

The visitors, who sit in mid table in their division – which like East Thurrock's Isthmian North is at Step Four in the non-League pyramid, are one of three sides from the Bedfordshire town.

Their neighbours are Bigglewade Town, who also play in the Southern Central, and who Rocks beat 1-0 away in 2017, the season they went on to reach the fourth qualifying round where they made the first round draw after a home draw with Ebbsfleet but lost out on a home tie against Doncaster Rovers when they lost the replay 3-0. The town's third team, Biggleswade United, play in the United Counties League Premier Division South.

Aveley, who come into this season's competition for the first time, have been drawn at home to Potters Bar Town – a meeting of two sides who both went up from the Isthmian North last season.

Should Grays Athletic come through Wednesday's replay against Stotfold after Saturday's dramatic 2-2 draw, they will be away to the winners of the replay between Southern League Division One Central side AFC Dunstable and Edgware & Kingsbury FC of the Combined Counties League Premier Division North, who also enjoyed late drama as they scored an equalising injury time goal against their higher league rivals to earn a 2-2 away draw on Saturday.

The winners of the first qualifying round ties, which will be played on Saturday, 3 September, receive £2,250 and the losers get £750.
