AFTER successive defeats in the FA Trophy and Isthmian Premier, Avelely will hope to get back to winning ways at home to Haringey Boroughtoday (Saturday, 22 October).

A win at Parkside against a side 13th in the table would cement Millers' position in the play-off zone.

Aveley have slipped a little of late, with only one win from their last four league matches and the Trophy defeat against Horsham.

After last week's defeat at Carshalton manager Danny Scopes has made changes to his squad, signing keeper Jonathan North from National South Slough Town and defender Siju Odelusi whose list of previous clubs includes Westfield, Northwood, Hayes & Yeading United, Tilbury and Witham Town and he spent last season in the Southern Premier with Leiston.

In the Isthmian North East Thurrock United are unbeaten in five matches, three of them producing wins that have lifted the Rocks from the bottom to midtable.

After fine away victories at Bury Town and Wroxham the Rocks play host at Rookery Hill to Gorleston who are second from bottom with one win and eight defeats from their nine matches to date.

As Gorleston head for Thurrock from the east coast, Grays Athletic travel in the opposite direction with a trip to table-topping Lowestoft.

The Norfolk side are unbeaten in the league, the only blemish to their 100 per cent record being last weekend's surprising goalless draw at Hullbridge Sports.

Grays are no slouches themselves and make the journey for a genuine top-of-the-table clash in second place after four straight wins.

After a worrying run of results, Tilbury bounced back with a win against Bury in the league last weekend and a midweek Velocity Cup success against Great Wakering Rovers.

They will hope that gives them impetus going into today's tough fixture at fifth-placed Heybridge Swifts
