AVELEY face a tough task as they bid to record a second Vanarama National League South win at Farnborough today (Saturday, 5 October)

Millers have just five points through a win and two draws after a disappointing start to the season.

They travel to the Saunders Transport Community Stadium to face a side sitting in eighth position, just a place away from the play-off zone.

Danny Scopes' team thought they had turned a corner with a draw at Torquay and victory over Dorking, but then September turned sour with an away league defeat at Chesham where they looked set of victory, a surprise FA Cup exit at the hands of underdogs Royston and a home defeat in the league inflicted by Truro.

Millers were without a match last weekend so will hope the break and a new month may bring a change of fortune.

In the Isthmian North, Tilbury have boosted hopes of a successful campaign with successive wins.

A home win against Waltham Abbey last weekend was followed up by by a 2-1 success at Redbridge on Tuesday.

The six points lifted Dockers to ninth, and just a point behind Heybridge Swifts who they visit this afternoon.

Grays Athletic sit eleventh but may fancy their chances as they take a three match unbeaten run into the home clash with Bury Town, though the visitors sit second in the table and have lost just once in the league to date.

In the Essex and Sufolk Border league East Thurrock Community FC go to eighth-placed Cressing on the back of successive victories, with an impressive away win last weekend.
