AVELEY will continue what is now regarded as a forlorn hope to stay in The Vanarama National League South with a trip to Hemel Hempsted Town this afternoon (Saturday, 22 March).
With seven matches left bottom-of-the-table Millers are 17 points adrift of safety, and if they lose and Enfield and Salisbury win, the mathematical certainty of the drop and the end of a two year sojourn at Step Three will be confirmed. Enfield are at Slough, six points above them, while Salisbury face a more difficult trip to second-placed Truro.
Regardless of the match, Millers boss Danny scopes has pledged his squad, which has been dramatically hit by injuries, will battle to the end of the season to 'maintain the integrity of the league'.
Hemel have the unlikely hope of making up an 11 point gap to the play-off zone so Millers fans will hope they have a dose of end of season lethargy. And Millers do have a victory against the Tudors this season.

They lost 1-0 at home in an early season league clash when Manny Ogunrinde and Garrett Kell were sent off, but gained revenge in the FA Trophy in November, beating them 2-1 at Parkside in the FA Trophy, with goals from Josh Anifowose and Brooklyn Kabongolo.
In the Isthmian North Tilbury will have hopes of making up ground on fifth-placed Brightlingsea Regent, who host title-chasing Bury Town, when Wroxham visit Chadfields.
The Yachtsmen are still not out of danger, just two points above the drop zone so will be up for a scrap, but Dockers have an encouraging performance in defeat at Bury Town last weekend, bracketed by two home wins against Basildon United and Mildenhall to give them encouragement.

It's been a mixed week for Tilbury. Despite Tuesday's win, bad news followed good with the announcement yesterday that the club's new stadium project has lost its backers.
Grays Athletic have a hat-trick of wins to fall back on, beating Concord, Cambridge and Ipswich Wanderers, going into today's trip to seventh-placed Walthamstow who will still harbour slim hopes of making the play-offs.
East Thurrock Community FC play their final home match in their debut Essex and Suffolk Border League Premier Division season when they host Alresford at Corringham's Wyldecrest Sports Country Club.
