CO-OP stores across Thurrock and the company's borough-based distribution hub have been making donations to support the Thurrock Foodbank charity.

Sandra Sawle, business co-ordinator for the charity, has expressed thanks for everyone's support – staff at the stores and the hub and the customers who have made donations of food they bought at collection points in the stores.

She added: "We appreciate every can and packet that is donated.

"Each store is being sent a poster to thank their customers, which shows the volume of donations from January to September 2022

"Their generosity enables us to provide food parcels to Thurrock residents in crisis.

"Thank-you particularly to Klaudia Plochocka from Co-op Distribution West Thurrock for arranging a fantastic donation to Thurrock Foodbank. It was full of much-needed items for our clients and weighed 219.4Kg."
