Borough remembered the fallen

By Nub News Reporter 11th Nov 2024

COMMUNITIES across Thurrock commemorated Remembrance Sunday with a raft of services throughout the borough.

In Grays, borough mayor Cllr Kairen Raper led the wreathlaying at the High Street Memorial following a parade of veterans.

Many residents gathered to pay their respects at a service which featured music from Grays Town Band.

There was a similar turnout in Tilbury, where the town honoured the fallen at the memorial in Civic Square.

And in Stifford Clays a newly refurbished garden of remembrance was the centrpiece of a local service attended by sea scouts, residents and councillors.

This evening Monday, 11 November, will see the Port of London's annual maritime service at the Port of Tilbury Cruise terminal. Refreshments from 5pm, service at 6pm. All are welcome.
