THURROCK Choral Society is currently preparing for this year's Christmas Concert which will be held on Sunday, 8 December at Thameside School, Manor Road, Grays, RM17 6EF at 6pm.

As usual the choir will be accompanied by acclaimed professional musicians, The London-based Bridgetower Trio – they will also be adding to the enjoyment of the concert by contributing some favourite seasonal items of their own.

Sandra Wilkes, TCS Chairperson says: 'We are very much looking forward to the concert this year as not only will we be singing the traditional Christmas carols (inviting the audience to join us for some of these!) but we are offering a performance of the popular and acclaimed Vivaldi Gloria.

"We have also found a lovely selection of seasonal songs edited by Peter Gritton. These include arrangements of perennial favourites such as Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas and Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.

"We hope that these will put everyone in the right mood for the festivities to come – and perhaps our seasonal refreshments will contribute to this atmosphere. We will also be interspersing this lovely music with light-hearted Christmas readings.

"The hall at Thameside School provides a warm and very comfortable venue with a relaxed atmosphere for our concerts and during the interval – as mentioned – we will have available refreshments including a glass of wine or fruit juice and the inevitable mince pies! There will also be a raffle with excellent prizes. The parking at the school is exceptional with ample spaces for all attendees – we hope to see as many Thurrock friends there as possible."

Further details of this event can be found on the TCS website at: www.thurrockchoralsociety.org.uk Tickets can be obtained from the Concert Secretary on 01375 377640 or on the door.
