CHARGES of sexual misconduct and harassment against a former Thurrock primary school headteacher were found to have been proved when he appeared before a Metropolitan Police hearing.

As recently reported on Thurrock Nub News, ex Stifford Clays school headteacher Anthony Peltier, who was also a ranking Special Constable in the Met, was the subject of a force Standards of Professional Behaviour hearing in respect of discreditable conduct.

The hearing heard that Mr Peltier harassed several junior female school staff members by touching them inappropriately or making sexual comments to them.

The Panel, which met on Friday (2 August) found 'Gross Misconduct' proven and issued a sanction that had Mr Peltier still been a serving special constable he would have been dismissed. He will now be added to the College of Policing Barred list.

No criminal charges have been brought against Mr Peltier, who once received a Pride of Britain Award for showing 'outstanding bravery' in saving the life of a boy who was stabbed in a gang fight in London.
