Lucy Harris of the Tilbury on Thames Trust welcomed former borough MP Dame Jackie Doyle-price, her husband Mark Coxshall and borough councillor George Coxshall to the Port stall.

ORGANISERS of the Orsett Show, which was hailed a big success last Saturday (7 September), have been praised by its main sponsor.

The Port of Tilbury has been a stalwart supporter of the one day traditional rural show for several years and the port's asset and site director Paul Dale has lauded the team behind the event.

He says: "Congratulations to the Orsett Show team for yet another spectacular event! Despite facing last-minute challenges, your dedication shone through.

"Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello to the Port of Tilbury team!"

Show secretay Georgina Clark said: "We were delighted to welcome a large number of visitors to the 116th Orsett Show.

"Despite the last minute cancellation of the cattle and Sheep Show, our visitors were able to enjoy many attractions - both old and new and it was so good to see many families wandering around the Showground.

"A big thank you to the amazing team that works so hard to ensure we have a successful Show Day - and, of course, to Paul and his team at the Port."
