A GRAYS food store owner has apologised and confirmed that meat was improperly delivered to his shop - less than six months after the business was linked to similar incidents.
However, he says as soon as he was made aware of the incident on Friday (1 May) at Grays Cash and Carry - which was posted on local social media - Mr Emran Azmat said he acted quickly to deal with the people responsible and all the meat delivered was taken off sale and has since been disposed of properly.

In December last year, Mr Azmat denied that his premises was connected with an incident on Clarence Road in the town centre when raw meat being transported in a shop trolley was laid on the street and cut up. The story was reported on Thurrock Nub News and Thurrock Council confirmed it was taking no action related to the premises.
Following the latest incident Mr Azmat has confirmed his premieses were involved and says he is sorry it happened but he has taken action.
"This was my premises and I have dealt with the people concerned. The meat has been disposed of properly and I have informed the council of what happened, " he told Nub news.
