GRAYS moved up to third spot in the Isthmian North table following tonight's (Wednesday, 28 September) win at Parkside against struggling Wroxham.

Talk before kick-off was of Grays hitting the goals trail and finding the big win they needed to take second spot on goals difference but in reality the composed measure of the win should be just as pleasing.

It's a long time between being well-placed in September and the end of the season!

With just one defeat and four wins from their six league matches Grays have made a decent start to the campaign and they will go into Saturday's derby at Tilbury in great heart.

In-form Anointed Chukwu opened the scoring for Grays just three minutes before the break and it wasn't until the 63rd minute that Sam Bantick was able to seal Grays' authority with a second goal.

But it was enough to secure the win and Grays will roll into October with a degeree of optimism.
