STANFORD-le-Hope Cricket Club are looking forward to a prestigious fixture next season - when they will be celebrating 100 years of playing at the town's recreation ground.

On Thursday 29 May the club will play host to the MCC.

A spokesperson for the thriving club, which runs four Saturday League XIs and a friendly Sunday team as well as a youth section with U9s, U11s, U13s and U15s teams, said: "It is a real honour for our club to be awarded such a prestigious fixture as it is very hard to secure club matches against the MCC.

"More details about this all-day game at The Rec and other events to celebrate this momentous anniversary, which actually occurs on Friday 9 May, will be distributed when they are confirmed next year.

"But in the meantime, please put Thursday 29 May in your 2025 diaries!"
