Aveley will be looking clinch a home FA Cup fourth qualifying tie with National League high-flyers Barnet when they make the short trip to Hornchurch this evening (Tuesday, 3 November).

The sides drew 2-2 in the third qualifying round on saturday at Parkside, with the Millers giving up a two goal lead to their neighbours from the Isthmina North.

However, they will have no fears about making the trip - having won twice at the Urchins' stadium ground last season on their way to winning promotion to the National league South.

Millers won 2-1 in the scheduled league meeting and then 1-0 in the play-off play-off in May!

As well as the attractive home tie, tonight's winners will pocket £5,625 (the losers get £1,875)

Things get even more lucrative in the next round where the winners get £9,375 and the losing clubs collecting £3,125.

One Miller who won't be taking part tonight is long-serving Connor Witherspoon, who has left the club.

Connor originally joined The Millers from then Isthmian Premier League side Brightlingsea Regent during the 2017/18 campaign and the following year saw him play 38 times as Avelely finished second in the Isthmian North before losing in the play-off semi-final to Heybridge Swifts.

He played full part the following season when the Millers again challenged for the league title and made the FA Trophy Quarter Final, before being defeated by Notts County at Meadow Lane.

31 more appearances came in last season's Isthmian North title winning season. In total Witherspoon made 175 appearances.

Aveley manager Danny Scopes said: "Connor was good to me when I came in and helped me settle when I joined, and I'll always be very thankful for him."
