Millers march on with another win on the road

Cray Wanderers 0, Aveley 3
AVELEY'S amazing run of form continued at Flamingo Park on Friday (9 January) night where fellow Isthmian Premier promotion-chasers Cray were put to the sword.
The win, which featured a first goal from loanee Fletcher Hubbard and two from another recent signing, former Love Island finalist Toby Aromolaran continues Millers' season long unbeaten away run and it is now 16 matches since they were beaten in the league.
And it came on the back of a goalkeeping drama which saw keeper Joe Wright leave the club after accepting an offer elsewhere and the arrival, on loan, of Rylee Mitchell from Championship side Norwich City. The deal was sealed a matter of hours before kick-off and he was to make an impressive debut and played a full part in the win.
The opening exchanges saw Millers flirt with a couple of chances but they were grateful to Mitchell on 19 minutes when he got down well to push a goal bound shot past the post. Miller countered quickly and Ollie Peters set up Jayden Robinson, whose effort was well saved by Cray keeper Harry Seaden.
Other chances came and went with both keepers gainfully employed but there were to be no goals by the interval, though Aveley could say with justification they were the better side in the opening stanza.
And it wasn't until almost 15 minutes into the second that the deadlock was broken. Peters linked up well with Hubbard and he took the ball in his stride and fired home into the bottom corner.

Cray almost hit back within a couple of minutes but they were denied by a fine save from Mitchell who flung himself across the goal to make a stop when it looked odds on that Cray would score.
Aveley then survived a succession of Cray corners and introduced Aromolaran for Louie Kudiabor on 74 minutes - a switch that was to prove profitable as he scored twice in the 78th and 80th minutes, getting on the end of two balls into the box and finishing with aplomb.
There were to be six added minutes but Millers played them out well to take another impressive scalp in their charge for promotion.
Watch manager Brett Munyard reflect on the match with Toby Aromolaran:-
The matches are coming quick and fast for Millers and they are next in action at home to Billericay Town in the Essex Senior Cup semi-final on Monday (12 January).
