FOLLOWING an investigation by Essex FA it has now been confirmed that Grays Athletic have been removed from the Essex Senior Cup.

As reported on Nub News Grauys were reported for using a player who had previously played in this season's competition for another club when they beat Concord Rangers 3-1.

Grays made a detailed statement of mitigation to the Essex County FA, expressing concerns in relation to available information on the portal regarding the player, his previous clubs, a duplicate registration and the fact that his name was incorrectly recorded on the teamsheet when he played in a previous round.

The panel took this information into account, however, their decision was to award the tie to Concord Rangers. Grays Athletic have been fined £50.

A statement from Grays says: "Grays Athletic believe that any appeal against this ruling would be futile and there we wish both Canvey Island and Concord Rangers the best of luck in their quarter final and the remainder of the competition."
