AVELEY will be hoping to end the day on top of the Isthmian Premier after their trip to struggling Bowers & Pitsea.

The Millers sit in second place going into the match, while their hosts are in the drop zone, with just one win and only nine points from their 14 matches.

The match starts at 2pm so a point will put them ahead of the pack, even if only for an hour. Leaders Hornchurch are away to another struggling side, Brightlingsea Regent, while third-placed Potters Bar are at Haringey Borough.

Avelely will be looking for a third successive win after victories against Hornchurch last weekend and a 5-2 success at Folkestone in midweek.

There's another 2pm kick-off in the Isthmian North, where Grays Athletic play host to Hastag United, who sit in third.

A draw against Heybridge Swifts and defeat at Sudbury last week has meant Grays have slipped out of the play-off zone and they are without a win in their past three outings so today's clash is something of a test of character for Lewis Dark's men.

East Thurrock United will be looking to bounce back strongly after last weekend's surprise home drubbing by Maldon and they may fancy their chances at bottom club Coggeshall Town.

Tilbury are without a match.
