About the role
This administrative role is required to assist with the day to day operations of the Police Department and NaVCIS function. We are looking for a Police administrator to provide professional, efficient, proactive and comprehensive administrative support in conjunction with the Chief of Police (CPO) You will undertake a range of duties required to support the police station and Port needs.
Key responsibilities:
- Monitoring station supplies and orders of specialist and general equipment
- Populating and updating the Police rostering system
- Records management including archiving as required in line with police and port policies
- Administration of Hot Work Permits and Smoking Licenses
- Arranging maintenance of Port vehicles and equipment
- Carrying out testing of Port Police Station fire alarm and coordinating evacuation drills
- Day to day management of the Police Vehicle compound
- Arranging the disposal of abandoned, found or seized vehicles
- Management of the Police bank account and petty cash system, and general ledgers
- Create physical and electronic records of recovered stolen/finance vehicles
- Carry out Police National Computer, HPI and Motor Industry Anti Frand and Theft register checks
What are we looking for?
We're seeking a highly organised and dependable individual with a professional approach and a strong sense of discretion. You'll be confident managing a varied workload, communicating effectively with different teams, and maintaining high standards in a sensitive, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate must demonstrate sound judgement, a willingness to take on responsibilities such as fire marshalling and first aid (training provided), and must be able to meet the requirements of police security vetting as a condition of employment.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous administrative experience with demonstrable organisational ability and attention to detail
- A good knowledge of Microsoft office including word and excel
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to prioritise a busy work schedule
- There is an expectation that the post holder will be a fire marshal and first aid responder, training will be provided
- Due to the nature of this role, the post holder will need to always consider confidentiality and act in line with GDPR and part 3 Data Protection act 2018
- Full right to work in the UK
- Driving licence is preferred
