Our client, a leading M&E contractor in the UK, is seeking an experienced M&E Estimator with strong mechanical expertise to join their team on a permanent basis. Based in Thurrock, this role will cover projects across South East England.

Duties:

The role will be primarily based in Thurrock but may require travel in London / Essex / South East for meetings.

  • Estimating projects with values from 150k - 10m
  • Liaising with main clients concerning projects and RFI's
  • Attend tender meetings
  • Analyse project specifications and drawings to prepare accurate cost estimates
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements
  • Conduct site visits to assess project scope and gather necessary information
  • Utilise cost estimation software and tools to generate detailed estimates
  • Prepare comprehensive and competitive bids for projects
  • Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle of the project to ensure cost control
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services
  • Present estimates and proposals to clients in a clear and professional manner

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Estimator with Mechanical & Electrical background
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
  • Proficiency in using cost estimation software and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations
