A BIDDING war led to an East Tilbury semi-detached house needing work done but with potential sold at auction for £317,000.

The three-bedroom house was among 119 lots in the June auction held by Clive Emson Land and Property Auctioneers.

Despite needing refurbishment throughout Farm Road property which sits on a good sized plot extending to 0.04 hectares (0.10 acres) was seen as having great potential.

Senior Auction Appraiser Russell Hawkes said: “This was auctioneering at its best, with the vendor achieving an exceptional price and the purchaser acquiring a property with great potential.

“We considered there to be scope for an extension to the side and/or rear an additional dwelling, subject to all necessary consents being obtainable.”
