Eggsceptional! Young ladies with hearts of gold...

By Neil Speight 12th Mar 2021

TWO young people have shown their care for the Thurrock community by collecting Easter eggs and distributing them to local good causes.

Well-known charity champion Courtney-Lee Collins from Aveley who was awarded a British Empire Medal for her services to the local community last year in the Queen's Birthday Honours List has gifted eggs to local emergency service personnel.

The 21-year-old recently visited Grays Fire and Ambulance stations to pass on the gifts.

And a family friend, 12-year old Evie Cook was so inspired by seeing what Courtney-Lee had done, she began her own collection of eggs to give out to the borough's needy.

In just 48 hours she lobbied friends and family and gathered in 87 eggs!

And she is still collecting - if you would like to help contact her parents on 07729817219. People can donate via Paypal and Evie's family will gladly provide proof of purchase. And Nub News will report on where they have gone to!
