MOTORISTS who use the a13 who thought they might be spared a weekend of closures along the A13 as Thurrock Council decided not to sanction any for Remembrance weekend will be disappointed to learn that a chunk of the busy road will still be shut off.

As reported on Nub News a section of eastbound A13 near the Five Bells roundabout has been subject to lane narrowing because of a fault on the carriageway.

The cones have been in place for two weeks without any work being done - but Essex County Council now plans to start repairs this weekend and the whole eastbound carriageway will be closed from Friday evening (12 November) to Monday morning.

The work will involve breaking out two 23 metre long reinforced sections of one lane, and then replacing it and making the road good.

Diversions will be signposted and are likely to take traffic through Vange and Pitsea.
