THE latest community clean-up of alleyways in Grays has been hailed a success.

It took place on Saturday morning (14 October) when members of the Orchards Community Forum and other local volunteers carried out the work.

Thurrock councillor John Kent was among those helping out and he said: "Thanks to all the Orchard Forum volunteers who were out this morning clearing fly tipping and other rubbish from the alleys around Kent, Salisbury, Richmond and Benson Roads.

Cllr John Kent joined the volunteers.

"The rubbish has been left at various locations and the council will collect it this afternoon.

"Also many thanks to the Riverside Community Big Local for paying for disposing of the rubbish."
