Our client is seeking a Mechanical Reliability Technician for their Thames terminal. This is a hands-on permanent role focused on maintaining equipment and systems involving scheduled and reactive maintenance, with the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. You will be working 35-hours per week, Monday to Friday form 08 00, and will be entitled to a 5% employer pension contribution, increasing to 8% after five years. Other benefits include Bupa health insurance, life assurance and an annual bonus. Your key responsibilities will be:
- Completing scheduled and reactive mechanical maintenance on rotating equipment, tanks, and other plant systems
- Performing fire pump testing, valve maintenance, and flame arrestor inspections
- Ensuring compliance with site safety rules and overseeing contractor activity
- Monitoring stock levels of mechanical consumables and reporting usage
- Assisting in the planning, fault-finding, and execution of maintenance tasks to ensure plant uptime
- Participating in safety audits, redlining technical documents, and contributing to risk assessments and method statements
- Providing on-call support as part of the terminal's rota system, assisting with ship connections/disconnections and emergency maintenance tasks
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance or time-served Mechanical Technician
- Significant experience in a chemical manufacturing or storage plant environment
- Proficiency in reading P&IDs
