MAYOR of Thurrock, Cllr Sue Shinnick, is seeking nominations for a special Certificate of Recognition which will be given to those in the borough who have gone above and beyond to help their community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cllr Shinnick said: "I want to recognise the incredible impact and generosity of individuals, community, voluntary and faith groups and local businesses who have helped support Thurrock residents during the pandemic. This help could be for lots of people or just one person.

"This has been a truly unprecedented time, and our wonderful community here in Thurrock really came together to help each other out. Community is our greatest strength which is why it's so important to me to recognise those whose dedication and hard work helped so many during the worst of COVID-19.

"I'm calling on all Thurrock residents to let us know who they think deserves to be thanked for supporting their community during this challenging period."

All nominations must be received by midnight on Sunday, 3 October 2021.
