MORE commemorative plantings have taken place in the borough to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

Bulphan in Bloom member Rod Addison has planted a Queen's Jubilee Rose in the commemorative rose bed at the village hall.

It's a double bloom fragrant white rose with a peach blush, purchased by Bulphan Village Community Forum, and sourced by Helen Winter.

Ward councillors Rob Gledhill and Ben Maney with council staff and residents in Little Thurrock.

In the Little Thurrock Community Garden in Grays, ward councillors Rob Gledhill and Ben Maney joined members of the council's environmental team and residents for a tree planting.

Also in Grays, in Parker Road, councillors and residents in Grays Riversids planted a tree as part of the national Queen's Green Canopy scheme.

Speaking from the Parker Road Recreational Ground, following the tree planting, Cllrs Martin Kerin, Jane Pothecary and Tony Fish said: "We are pleased to be able to plant this tree. This park at Parker Road is a special place for local residents, and a fantastic location for this additional tree.

Grays Riverside councillors Tony Fish and Martin Kerin were on hand as a tree was planted in Parker Road, Grays.

"It is great that all 20 wards of Thurrock have been given the opportunity to be part of this Green Canopy scheme. Hopefully, this tree planted today will be the first of many to grace our ward.

"The residents of Grays Riverside certainly appreciate any effort to make our ward a greener and healthier place to live."
