THURROCk resdients and motorists have been alerted to possibly dangerous conditions by the met Office, which has issued a yellow weather warning for tomorrow (Friday. 6 September).

Outbreaks of heavy rain are expected widely across the south and the Met Office predicts thunderstorms in some areas in the early hours of the morning and continuing into the afternoon and evening.

Specific areas put on alert include Thurrock.

The Met Office said: "There is a small chance that some communities will become cut off by flooded road, as well as a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life.

"This heavy rain follows on from an expected wet day across some similar areas on Thursday which will increase the likelihood of impacts.

"There is also the potential for further spells of heavy rain across parts of the south over the weekend."
