FOLLOWING Tuesday night's 4-1 defeat at Waltham Abbey and with Tilbury in the Isthmian North drop zone, the curtain has come down on the second managerial reign of Marc Harrison and Liam Wallace at the club.

The club has announced that the duo will leave the club through mutual consent, though they will take charge of Saturday's fixture against Wroxham.

A statement from the club says: "We would like to thank Marc, Liam and their management team for their hard work while at the football club and for the unforgettable memories they have brought to Chadfields, and we wish them the best of luck moving forward."

The duo were in their second spell at Tilbury, having first managed there before taking over at now defunct East Thurrock United in November 2021.

Liam Walsh and Mark Harrison celebrate with fans after lifting the Essex Senior League title.

The duo have been together throughout their managerial career, starting out in the Essex Olympian League with Basildon Town. They then switched to neighbours Basildon United and took them to the Essex Senior League title and promotion to Isthmian North.

The pair took over at Tilbury FC in November 2018 but left for the challenge at East Thurrock which ultimately proved abortive as the club's financial woes saw the playing budget slashed and ultimately the club folded.

They returned to Chadfields in March 2023 with Dockers in trouble at the foot of the table but they were unable to avoid relegation to the Essex Senior League.

However, it took just one season for Dockers to get back to step four as they lifted the championship trophy.

Last season was largely successful but Dockers just missed out on the play-offs, finishing sixth.

And the start to this campaign saw Dockers win am FA Cup preliminary round clash against AFC Dunstbale but they went out after getting a tough draw at Isthmian Premier Needham Market, a team that had just dropped from the National league South.

They have fared well in the FA Trophy with away wins at London Lions, Welwyn Garden City and, improessively, at Chertsey Town. Next up is a first round proper home tie against Southern League Division One Central Hadley FC on Saturday, 25 October.

But success in the league has been infrequent, with five defeats, three draws and two defeats.

And that has ultimately proved fateful for the duo, who will be hoping to go out on a high in Saturday's final home match against high-flying Wroxham.
